Altered Index Card | Challenge Entry for Sue Ann Thomanson

8:15 AM

Hello and welcome!
Today I'm here sharing my very first altered index card project.
This project was made for a lovely lady on YouTube and her name is Sue Ann.
She was hosting a challenge giveaway and all she was asking for was an altered IC in our own style.
My style, I don't really know what is called, so I'm naming it myself.
Modern Shabby Chic.
It's floral, it's girly, but it's also bright and colorful.
What would you call it?

So I made this card using a 4"x6" piece of heavy chipboard and it was black. To brighten it up, I applied a coat of metallic pearlescent paint by Martha Stewart. The edges were finished with a bead trim. And as a bright background I used a Cricut image, and thats the blue gate-style pattern you see in the back.
On the left side I decided to try something that I've been eyeing for a while now. Foiled butterflies. I just printed them using my laser printer on a teal cardstock. I then cut them up using my Cricut Explore. Lastly, I ran them through my Minc machine and foiled them using a teal foil. I absolutely love how they came out and will be using them in most future projects. I just shaped their wings a little using a bone folder and the ribbon curling technique, so they came to life!
On the right side I make a flower cluster using 3 large roses that I learned through Lori Seabrook's YouTube channel. They remind me of some paper roses I saw that one of my favorite craft stores had for sale. Absolutely love the roses. I added another foiled butterfly under those. There are also tiny butterflies all over the card to add a pop of color here and there.
The bicycle and "create" were just imaged I cut out using my cricut using some metallic cardstock.
So there it is guys. I really love how this card came out and I will be looking to make another one for my channel on YouTube. Thanks for stopping by guys. I'll leave the corresponding video below if you want to see it again.
Until the next crafty creation!
